Jaeger-LeCoultre revisits the Master Control Classic in 36 mm steel

Inspired by a 1995 reference, the new Master Control Classic by Jaeger-LeCoultre is a clear expression of the timeless appeal of classical design.

The watch comes in a 36 mm stainless-steel case measuring just 8.15 mm in thickness and is water-resistant to 50 metres (165 feet).

Its proportions closely mirror those of the original model, with the diameter increased by only two millimetres.

The case frames a classic silver-coloured sunray dial, featuring elongated triangular indices with luminescent dots marking the hours.

The Dauphine hands enhance the overall elegance, while the blued central seconds hand adds a discreet touch of colour.

Powering the Master Control Classic is the latest self-winding Calibre 899, operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

The caseback features the emblem historically associated with the Master Control line, referencing Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 1000-Hour Control certification.

Introduced in 1992, this proprietary testing protocol evaluates the fully cased watch rather than the movement alone and has continued to evolve alongside advances in watchmaking technology.

The watch is paired with a warm brown ostrich leather strap, accented with lighter stitching and secured by a stainless-steel pin buckle.

Produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Classic, ref. Q4008520, is priced at €9,100 / US$ 8,950.
